POLICIES

THE GIVING CIRCLE OF SWFL WILL:

DIVERSITY AND FAITH-BASED POLICIES:

THE GIVING CIRCLE WILL NOT FUND:

  • Give grants to organizations whose programs promote self-sufficiency for women and families
  • Give grant funds for programs and resources that promote our mission
  • Support women and families of all ages to live healthy, productive lives
  • Focus on those who are  disadvantaged economically, physically and socially
  • Grant funds for one year


Any funds 

  • Give grants to organizations whose programs promote self-sufficiency for women and families

Any funds not used or committed for the specific purpose of the grant must be returned to the Women's Giving Circle of Southwest Florida or the Community Foundation.


An organization may only submit one grant proposal per grant cycle.


An organization which has received a grant is eligible to re-apply after the funded program has been successfully completed, all funds have been spent and all conditions of the first grant have been met.


Grantees must be nonprofit organizations, exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and deemed "not a profit foundation" under Section 509(a)

  • Organizational endowments
  • Capital improvements 
  • Purchase of event tickets or sponsorships
  • Deficit reduction
  • Annual drives or annual giving campaigns
  • Political activities, campaigns or political action committees
  • Grants to individuals
  • Private Schools
  • Scholarly research
  • Programs whose philosophy, requirements or activities do not support and uphold 

  • Organizational endowments

Diversity Policy


The applicant organization must have in writing a board-approved policy that it supports the following Community Foundation of Collier County's Statement of Diversity.

Diversity Policy


The applicant organization must have in writing a board-approved policy that it supports the following Community Foundation of Collier County's Statement of Diversity.

"We promote the celebration and acceptance of our community's diversity, which contributes to a healthy, caring community.  The Community Foundation of Collier believes that diversity encompasses, but is not limited to religion, age, ethnicity, race, gender identity, sexual orientation, economic circumstances, physical and mental abilities, characteristics and philosophy."


Faith-Based Policy


Faith-based organizations shall not use grants to support inherently religious activities, such as religious worship or evangelization.  An organization must take steps to separate, in time or location their inherently religious activities from the Community Foundation's (and Women's Giving Circle's) funded service.  Funding supports only organizations that accept clients/participants from all faiths.
